Treatment
for ADD or ADHD
at Counseling and Psychological
Services (CAPS)
CAPS cannot initiate first-time medications for ADD or
ADHD, but once you are stabilized on a medication and dosage, they
can help you get continuing refills of your prescription.
For more information, visit the CAPS FAQ's
section or call 621-3334.
What do I do?
To
apply for ongoing prescription refills you must:
- Establish
the diagnosis of ADD or ADHD through an off-campus
provider.
-
Bring the documentation (psychological testing report)
to CAPS.
-
Be stabilized on a medication and dosage for
your condition.
-
Bring documentation (medical treatment summary)
of your ongoing medication treatment to CAPS.
-
If you have a local doctor who is already continuing your medications,
CAPS urges you to continue with that doctor. This
will enable students from out of town to obtain this service more
readily.
Prescriptions
for Controlled Substances:
A
prescription for a controlled substance will be honored from all
states as long as it is presented before the expiration date of
the prescription.
